Food Safety

Dear Napa Nuts Customers:

In January 2011, President Obama signed the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) into law. The Act made sweeping changes to U.S. food safety laws, most notably shifting focus to preventing food safety problems rather than reacting to them after they occur. The law was implemented in August 2015.

Napa Nuts meets the new FDA (Food and Drug Administration) requirements for food safety.  We now have a Third Party Harmonized Audit that certifies that we meet the required food safety standards; this includes a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) flowchart and plan.  HACCP identifies where hazards might occur in the food production process and puts into place actions to prevent the hazards from occurring.

Beyond just the legal requirements, Napa Nuts is highly concerned with the health and safety of our customers.  We acknowledge that many people with peanut allergies are highly sensitive. Napa Nuts has implemented systems to protect consumers from peanut cross-contamination. In addition to other precautions, we now have a dedicated packing room exclusively reserved for peanuts.

We are proud to be leaders in the industry in food safety.  Please feel free to ask us more about our commitment to providing safe food to our customers.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Miluso, CEO
