Food Safety

Dear Napa Nuts Customers:

In January 2011, President Obama signed the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) into law. The Act made sweeping changes to U.S. food safety laws, most notably shifting focus to preventing food safety problems rather than reacting to them after they occur. The law was implemented in August 2015. Although we are not required to be compliant with the new laws until 2017, we have already met the new standards.

Napa Nuts meets the new FDA (Food and Drug Administration) requirements for food safety. We now have a Third Party Harmonized Audit that certifies that we meet the required food safety standards; this includes a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) flowchart and plan. HACCP identifies where hazards might occur in the food production process and puts into place actions to prevent the hazards from occurring. We are proud to be leaders in the industry in food safety. Please feel free to ask us more about food safety.
